(FOX26) — In a remarkable showcase of athleticism and spirit, athletes from Fresno and Manteca returned home with a haul of gold medals from the 46th Silver State Senior Games held in Las Vegas. This annual event, a celebration of senior athletes across the United States, brought together over 200 competitors, all eager to showcase their skills in various track and field disciplines at the University of Las Vegas.
Stellar Performances in Hammer and Weight Throw
Among the standout performances was that of Gurbax Singh Sidhu from Fresno. Sidhu made waves in the throwing events by clinching two gold medals. His remarkable throw in the hammer event reached a distance of 41.82 meters, a testament to his dedication and hard work in training. In the weight throw, he secured another gold with a distance of 14.38 meters, further solidifying his prowess in these challenging disciplines.
