This award is presented to former University of Memphis student-athletes who have excelled in their professions after leaving the university, making it a significant recognition of professional achievement.

The award ceremony is set to take place during the M Club Hall of Fame event on Friday, April 17. This ceremony not only underscores Holliday’s accomplishments but also highlights the university’s commitment to honoring its alumni who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
A Stellar Athletic Career at Memphis
Doc Holliday’s journey began at the University of Memphis, where he played football from 1991 to 1994, during the days when the university was known as Memphis State. His collegiate career was nothing short of impressive. In his final season, he emerged as the team’s leading rusher, accumulating 618 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Notably, he set a program record that still resonates today – he recorded 42 rushing attempts in a single game against Tulane, a feat that showcases his exceptional skill and endurance.

After honing his skills on the college field, Holliday took his talents to the professional level. He played for the St. Louis Rams in the NFL and later joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL.
