Exploring New Frontiers in Gold and Silver Mining: Questcorp Mining Inc. at the La Union Project
Vancouver, British Columbia – November 12, 2025 – Questcorp Mining Inc. (CSE: QQQ, OTCQB: QQCMF, FSE: D910) has recently announced the completion of the first phase of drilling at its La Union gold and silver project located in Sonora, Mexico. This development marks a significant milestone for the company, as they have successfully executed a total of 12 diamond core holes, amounting to over 1,600 meters drilled across six prime targets. The project is being advanced in partnership with Riverside Resources Inc., the operator managing the exploration program.
Program Highlights
-
Depth of Exploration: The completed drilling phase encompassed a total of 1,600 meters across the six priority targets, which include notable sites such as Union Mine, Union Norte, Cobre, Luis, Famosa, and Famosa Mag.
-
Historical Context: This initial exploration involved testing areas adjacent to three past-producing mines, aimed at evaluating mineral continuity.
-
Sampling Efforts: Over 700 half-core samples have been shipped for assay, with results pending, reflecting a thorough approach to mineral analysis.
- Target Oriented Strategy: The drilling holes were strategically oriented at angles and near verticals to effectively intersect the stratigraphy and structures typical of Carbonate Replacement Deposit-type ("CRD") systems, focusing primarily on depths less than 150 meters.
Dr. John-Mark Staude, President and CEO of Riverside Resources, expressed enthusiasm about the findings so far. "This first phase accomplished initial drill holes into six target areas, confirming key carbonate host units recognized by historic mining at Union and Famosa," he commented. Such confirmations are crucial in advancing the geological model and enhancing the potential for substantial discoveries in the district.
Target Areas Drilled
Union Mine
The project began with three holes targeting manto horizons and chimney structures adjacent to historic underground workings. The drilling aimed to assess the stratigraphy, mineralization continuity, and alteration typical of CRD systems.
Famosa Mine Area
Four core holes were drilled in this region, targeting a west-dipping dolomite manto and adjacent structures. The exploration logging revealed notable intrusions and breccias, alongside surface dumps from previous mining efforts reportedly yielding gold grades of over 0.5 oz/t Au.
Union Norte
Two additional holes were drilled here to assess the manto horizon within dolomitic carbonate strata. The primary goal was to evaluate the continuity and geometry along favorable trends indicated by historical workings.
Cobre and Luis
These targets evaluated structural controls around mineralization, revealing sulfides and various types of mineralization inherently characteristic of carbonate-hosted systems.
Sample Analysis Process
The exploration team meticulously logged core samples, which were subsequently saw-cut and sent for testing. The samples from the initial eight holes were directed to Bureau Veritas in Hermosillo, where gold assays were conducted. Following this, additional analyses were forwarded to Vancouver for further evaluation of silver, base metals, and associated pathfinders.
Notably, the remaining half-cores have been preserved for future reference, ensuring that the team maintains a robust repository of original materials for ongoing and future analysis.
Path Forward: Next Steps
With results from the assays anticipated shortly, the company plans to bolster its exploration programs. Future steps will involve integrating insights from the latest assays, core logging, and advanced geophysical techniques to refine their CRD model. Questcorp Mining Inc. aims to scope out a Phase 2 exploration campaign, which is expected to be more extensive, taking place as early as the first half of 2026. Permits are in good standing and with compelling data from Phase 1, targets will be well-prepared for further exploration.
Quality Assurance and Control
The accuracy of the technical data announced is bolstered by oversight from Freeman Smith, P.Geo, who serves as the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101. Their diligence ensures that the information disseminated remains precise and reliable.
