These 10-week-old kittens were named after sidekicks from beloved Broadway musicals—Riff from West Side Story and Perchik from Fiddler on the Roof. Their names echo the spirit of friendship, loyalty, and the occasional touch of mischief that often characterizes feline life.
A Story to Remember
Riff and Perchik hail from an unexpected origin. The brothers are "bodega baby brothers" with a backstory straight out of a Disney film. Their mother, a NYC mouser, gave birth to them in a cozy bodega. But their charming lives faced a challenge when a panicked dog owner threatened to take all the kittens away after her pit bull was scratched by their mother. Luckily, the dedicated team at Big Apple Cats intervened and rescued the litter, allowing these two little ones to find their forever home.
Mischief and Mayhem
Riff and Perchik are a duo that embodies the spirit of youthful exuberance. Always bonded, they fill their days with playful antics—wrestling, chasing after imaginary prey, and jumping in delight. Whether they are colliding off furniture or sneaking into forbidden areas for a taste of adventure, these kittens ensure that boredom is never an option.
