Celebrating Our Four-Legged Friends: Bailee, Jenni, Eleanor, and Yuji
Meet Bailee and Jenni
In today’s heartwarming feature of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) Pets of the Day, we are delighted to introduce Bailee and Jenni! These charming canines were lovingly submitted by Freddy Butson from Operator Services. With their adorable expressions and playful spirits, Bailee and Jenni certainly embody the joy and companionship that dogs bring to our lives.

Eleanor and Yuji Join the Spotlight
Our second dynamic duo today consists of Eleanor and Yuji, sent in by Jessie Shepherd from the Development team. Both of these dogs bring a unique charm to the VUMC community and remind us all of the unconditional love animals offer. Eleanor and Yuji are frequently seen frolicking at local parks or lounging lazily in their favorite sunny spots, exuding an aura of serenity and calm.
The Importance of Pet Recognition at VUMC
The Pets of the Day initiative is part of the broader efforts by VUMC to foster connectivity among employees and celebrate the furry friends that enrich our lives. Each week, the VUMC News and Communications team includes these delightful pet spotlights in their MyVUMC News newsletter, which is delivered twice weekly to staff and community members.
These segments give an opportunity for pet owners to showcase their beloved companions, celebrating not just the animals themselves, but the joy and emotional support they provide. It’s an excellent avenue for the VUMC community to bond over shared stories of love and loyalty, providing a much-needed respite during busy workdays.
How Pets of the Day Are Chosen
Each featured pet is carefully selected from numerous submissions received during the VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest. With hundreds of delightful entries every year, the contest is a celebration of creativity and affection between pets and their owners. The selection process allows for a diverse range of pets and photographs to be showcased, amplifying the sense of community among VUMC staff members.
How to Participate
For those who want to share the joy of their furry friends, the VUMC community is encouraged to participate in future contests. The next Pet Photo Contest submission period will soon be announced through MyVUMC News. Whether it’s a goofy snapshot or a stunning portrait, every entry helps to remind us of the warm connection between humans and their pets.
A Collection of Pet Joys
In addition to the spotlighted pets, regular collections of pet photos are made accessible on the VUMC Voice site, providing a broader platform for appreciation of the wonderful pets belonging to our community. A Celebration of Pets
Today’s features of Bailee, Jenni, Eleanor, and Yuji not only bring smiles but also reinforce the significance of pets in our lives. These loyal companions offer comfort, joy, and often a slice of comic relief that enhances our daily existence. Their tales serve as a reminder that amid the hustle and bustle of our work lives, it’s important to take a moment and connect with the furry friends that bring such joy into our worlds.
